W.R.N.S. A fascinating and interesting archive of the war time naval career of Petty Officer 23549 Winifred A Shand R.N. From 1941/46. The book contains letters and photographs of her time, mostly based in Edinburgh. On of the letters tells of how she could have received a commission but was unable to because she couldn't leave Edinburgh. Also paper cuttings of major events, Victory marches, etc. A copy of Winifred's Obituary gives more of an insight into this ladies life. The collection contains two photograph albums of her family from the 1920's, with military photos believed to be her Uncle.
